RIAHPERD MINI GRANTS
The purpose of this program is to provide funds for programs with innovative, meritorious ideas which lack funding. RIAHPERD will award up to five $500 grants. The mission of RIAHPERD is to promote and support creative and healthy lifestyles through high quality programs in health, physical education, recreation and dance, and to provide members with professional development opportunities that increase knowledge, improve skills, and encourage sound professional practices. Funded projects should be consistent with the mission of RIAHPERD.
The applicant must be a member of RIAHPERD.

A. Project Goals and Objectives
In the space provided, describe expected outcomes or changes in behaviors. Describe at least two specific skills, behaviors, or new knowledge participants will gain from project.
In the space provided, describe the activities of the project. Concisely describe what the participants will do. Your description should communicate the quality of your project and justify its funding. Please include the number of participants and their ages.
C. Evaluation Instrument
In the space provided please describe what methods of evaluation will you use to determine if the objectives have been realized?
D. Budget
In the space provided please identify the costs of the project by itemizing what you will buy with the funds. Funds may not be used to pay for existing staff salary. Funds may be used to pay additional fees for staff duties above and beyond their normal scope of work. Checks cannot be made out to individuals, please make arrangements for where the money will be sent (school, PTO, agency).
The deadline for applications is Monday, February 16, 2008. Grant winners will be notified by March 16, 2007. The funded recipients and their project descriptions will be posted on our web site. Grant winners will be asked to promote their program in our newsletter, or at the conference next fall.
